Ask och nyckel

Snidad ask med dubbelhövdad örn och tenn avgjutning av nyckel till Interaktiva institutet i Umeå. Användes till en iscensättning av hur svenskarna lämnade över nyckeln till St Petersburg inför stadens 300 års firande. Skådespelet skedde på Gamlia i Umeå och sändes med webkamera i St Petersburg.

Horror flick inspiration

Growing up one of my biggest spures in learning english were a couple of cartoon books by Charles Addams found in my dad's bookshelf. I love the morbidity of the humour coupled with the attention to detail in the drawings. It's pretty far from the way I normally express myself but a couple of years ago I made these drawings as a tribute to that style. The subjects a pretty every day issues but placed in a horror fick inviroment.

I made these earrings as christmas presents for my mother and sisters. The necklace I made later on with leftover pieces and some sand polished china from the beach of our summer house.

the Specimen

The Specimen is a short film based losely on the novel "The Case of Charles Dexter Ward" (Gengångaren) by H P Lovecraft. In the film a mysterious man performs a strange experiment on something in a box. In the exhibition the film was shown on a monitor placed inside a model of a house to give the feeling you were watching him through a window. The Specimen (Preparatet) was my exam project at Nordiska scenografiskolan (Nordic school of production design).

Washed up by the sea

In our summer house you can find piles of sand polished glass and china in every corner you look. We all spend hours collecting them. It's almost like meditating, to walk along the beach trying to distinguish wet stones from shiny glass. What makes you the most happy is finding blue glass or pieces of china with parts of the pattern still on it. I used a very small lot of these collected treasures and made rings.

Since dancing is my hobby and great passion I suspect there will be more contributions on the same theme.

Truth be told I have not done any areals yet but though I´m quite sure it would kill me I still wouldn´t say no.

There's nothing wrong with a good cabaret.

This is me trying to recreate something I saw one of my favorite leaders do one night. I call it "climbing up the arm".

I painted this on the floor of our summer house. First I went round the neighburs to borrow a compass only to find that the military, that built the house, had placed it so that the floor boards went exactly in north-south direction.

My aunt and uncle run a very cosy bed and breakfast and a couple of years ago they added a winter garden to the main house. I was contracted to paint a decoration on one of the walls.

In the army

These pictures were taken in the outdoors section of the military muséum on Hemsön. It was strangely the first time I visited the island. Our summer house is not far from it and since my mother pratically grew up there it would seem an obvious place for field excursions. I guess we just don´t like to move around much during the summer. I just happened to be wearing those clothes and played around with the war machines while my sister took pictures. I like these pictures because in them, for some reason I can see, more than usually, the traits of my mothers and grand mothers faces in my own.

My sister had an idea of a picture she wanted of her family. Like an old fashioned studio shot. I took the pictures but couldn't get the result right. In a stroke of frustration I messed it around in photoshop and finally added the fox head on the babys face. And she liked it.

Samtidigt som jag älskar minnessaker så har jag inte särskillt mycket till övers för souvenirer. Jag vill att allting jag äger ska ha en egen historia och varje resa jag gör innebär nya minnessaker, klenoder som för mig är specifika för en plats och en stund. Klassiska souvenirer brukar sällan lyckas med att ge den känslan. Med det här projektet ville jag göra ett försök själv med att skapa en sorts souvenir. Genom att fokusera på stadens detaljer och flyktiga ögonblick ville jag ge en personligare version av Umeå och av souveniren.
